SpinTrak™ family of Spinneret Inspection systems inspects Spinnerets for defects in capillaries. Capillary defects which result in slow holes, drips, stoppages, dog legs, short life are detected. Such defects include dirt, carbon build up, additive build up, blockage, damage and edge wear. By ensuring that Spinnerets are free from capillary defects, SpinTrak™ eliminates Spinneret failures and maximizes Spinneret run time. Thus plant productivity and profits are increased. SpinTrak™ Spinneret inspection systems received a Recognition Award for Superior Technology and Fast Cycle Time from E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company.

The SpinTrak™ family of Spinneret inspection systems are specifically designed to inspect all types of fiber extrusion spinneret/dies used in filament yarn, staple fiber, spunbond, meltblown and spunlace applications. To accommodate various Spinneret sizes and configurations, the SpinTrak™ is available in a variety of models. The three configurations available are the Bench top, Table top and Floor standing units.

Benchtop Model

The Benchtop unit is mainly used for filament and staple fiber spinning. In Benchtop units, the microscope moves to each capillary location and the Spinneret (one or more depending on the Benchtop size) is held securely onto a sturdy holding fixture. The Benchtop units are offered in different sizes and speeds.  The size and speed recommended depends on the number of spinnerets required to be inspected, the sizes of the spinnerets and the degree of automation desired depending on the budget. For example, if the spinnerets are smaller size and more automation is desired, the largest unit would be recommended.

Tabletop Model

Mainly used for filament, fiber spinning & specialty applications (like Aramids and carbon fiber).  In Table Top units, the microscope does not move and the Spinneret is moved into the inspection position for the microscopic inspection. This model offers higher inspection speeds and inspects similar to a benchtop model.  Aspex Incorporated recommends this unit as an alternative to the benchtop model in certain circumstances depending on the type of spinnerets, required inspection capacity and especially the distance between the capillaries.

– The Tabletop is faster than the Benchtop unit

– It is small and highly accurate

Floor Standing Model

This system was redesigned to inspect very large single Spunbond, or Meltblown spinnerets. The unit became widely popular in the Nonwovens Industry and Aspex Incorporated has supplied to most of the well known nonwovens companies, and machinery suppliers. Different size ranges are offered within the family of Floor Standing units to accommodate the latest Spunbond spinneret sizes.  It is also used for providing a high level of automation for inspecting multiple filament or staple spinnerets in plants having a high production capacity.  Because the Floor Standing Models have a much larger inspection a very high level of automation is attained while saving labor cost.  Many customers run the SpinTrak™ overnight.

– Completely Customized for your needs

– Fully automated to inspect a large amount of Spinnerets

– Ideal for inspecting Spunbond and Meltblown Spinnerets

SpinTrak™ Features

Multi Scan Feature

Until recently, the SpinTrak™ inspected each Spinneret’s  capillaries one at a time. A new model of the SpinTrak™ has recently been introduced and delivered into the market that is better suited to inspect staple Spinnerets or where the number of capillaries on each Spinneret is very high. This model performs multihole inspection. Instead of zooming in until the system views only one capillary on the screen at a time, the SpinTrak™ zooms out to inspect multiple capillaries on the screen each time.. This model can inspect a 2700 holes staple Spinneret in approximately 3 minutes.. It makes all other inspection functions (like geometric measurements, review , air purging on failed capillary ,etc… ) exactly same as single capillary inspection.

– Inspection speed – @ 1000 capillaries per minute

– Highly suitable for staple applications

– Fastest inspection
